1. | Customs requirements | ||||||||||||||
1.1 | Aircraft entering Belize from abroad, must first land at the P.S.W.G. International Airport for Customs clearance. | ||||||||||||||
1.2 | Arrivals | ||||||||||||||
Upon arrival from abroad, the commander of an aircraft shall:
| |||||||||||||||
a) cause to be delivered to the appropriate and authorized officer 1. General Declaration forms (6 in total) including crew names; 2. The documents constituting the Customs Clearance from the Airport of Departure, and if required, the aircraft’s journey logbook; 3. A manifest of goods carried (in duplicate); 4. A passenger manifest ( in duplicate); 5. A list of stores carried ( in duplicate); | |||||||||||||||
b) cause all passengers to leave with their baggage for examination and produce all goods and stores carried in the aircraft with the exception that passengers, goods and stores to be carried onto a destination abroad may be exempted from this requirement. | |||||||||||||||
1.3 | Aircraft landing otherwise than at the P.S.W.G. International Airport | ||||||||||||||
If due to unavoidable causes an aircraft is compelled to land at other than
an authorized aerodrome, the commander:
| |||||||||||||||
a) Shall immediately report the landing to the Belize Air Traffic Control Unit, or to the Customs, Immigration or Police Department, and on demand, produce the aircraft’s journey logbook. | |||||||||||||||
b) Shall not, without the consent of an authorized officer permit any goods or stores to be unladen from, or any of the crew or passengers to depart from the vicinity of the aircraft and | |||||||||||||||
c) Shall comply with any directions given by an authorized officer with
respect to goods or stores carried on board.

1.4 | Departures | ||||||||||||||
Aircraft departing Belize for foreign destinations must finally depart from P.S.W.G. International, but before departure the commander of an aircraft shall cause to be delivered to the proper office: | |||||||||||||||
1. General Declarations including crew names; | |||||||||||||||
2. The aircraft’s journey logbook; | |||||||||||||||
3. A notice of intended departure and application for clearance (in duplicate); | |||||||||||||||
4. A manifest of goods carried (in duplicate); | |||||||||||||||
5. A passenger manifest (in duplicate); | |||||||||||||||
6. A list of stores laden in Belize and of stores remaining on board the aircraft (in duplicate); | |||||||||||||||
These documents, when approved by the proper officer, constitute customs clearance and authority to depart. | |||||||||||||||
2 . | Immigration requirements | ||||||||||||||
2.1 | No visas are required of passengers arriving and departing on the same through flight or transferring to another international flight at the same authorized airport of entry. | ||||||||||||||
2.2 | A person entering Belize for the purpose of immigration must hold a valid passport and an immigration visa, the latter being issued by a Diplomatic or Consular Office of Belize. Temporary visitors must be in possession of a valid passport with the exception of nationals in possession of official documents such as those issued by the Secretariat of the Caribbean Community, or documents establishing the identity of the bearer to the satisfaction of the Immigration Officer. Entrance Visas are required for temporary visitors with the exception of the following: | ||||||||||||||
a) Citizens of commonwealth countries, except India (whose
application must be referred)

b) Nationals of the following countries with which Belize
has Reciprocal Visa Abolition Agreement. e.g. Denmark, France, Sweden.

c) Nationals of the following countries do not require Visas to enter Belize: | |||||||||||||||

d) In-transit passengers provided that such passengers do
not intend to remain in Belize for more than seven days, and are in possession of tickets and
of such valid documents as will permit them to enter the country of their destination;

e) All nationals of Communist Countries must be
referred;
| |||||||||||||||
f) All applicants (except those covered by (g), must meet
the following requirements:
| |||||||||||||||
| |||||||||||||||
g) Businessmen, in addition to requirements at (f) must
produce evidence of transactions with commercial establishments in Belize.
h) Official visitors and visitors to Government authorities in Belize must be in possession of letters of appointments or diplomatic notes. | |||||||||||||||
i) Nationals of Guatemala may be granted visas without reference if they meet the appropriate requirements of (f) except that if they apply to enter Belize to take up a Consular Post, their applications should be referred to the Director, Immigration and Nationality Department, Belmopan, Belize. | |||||||||||||||
3. | Public Health Requirements | ||||||||||||||
3.1 | All aircraft entering Belize shall make their first entry landing at Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport which is designated as a sanitary aerodrome and port of entry. | ||||||||||||||
3.2 | Vaccination certificates are required from disembarking passengers coming directly from an area with infectious diseases. | ||||||||||||||
3.3 | Arrivals | ||||||||||||||
The commander of an aircraft arriving from abroad additionally shall: | |||||||||||||||
a) before arrival, inform the proper officer by radio of
any death, and of any case of infectious diseases on board the aircraft.
b) upon arrival, produce a General Declaration and Fumigation Certificate and answer any questions as to health conditions on board which may be asked by an authorized officer. | |||||||||||||||
c) present to an authorized officer, a declaration of health in the appropriate form containing the place of call and any facts relevant to public health, which have risen in the course of the voyage, and any health measures undergone by the aircraft crew and passengers, before departure and during flight. | |||||||||||||||
Operators must ensure that any refuse taken from the aircraft is disposed of hygienically to the satisfaction of the Public Health Authorities in Belize. | |||||||||||||||
3.4 | Disinsectisation | ||||||||||||||
The Director of Health Services may prohibit aircraft arriving from an area from which they are liable to bring insect vectors of malaria, dengue or any other diseases, unless they have disinsected during the voyage. Special sanitary measures apply to arrivals from yellow fever, plague, cholera, typhus and small pox infested or endemic areas. Where required, quarantine/vaccination arrangements will be made locally. | |||||||||||||||
3.5 | Aircraft landing otherwise than at the sanitary aerodrome | ||||||||||||||
If due to unavoidable reasons, an aircraft is compelled to land at other than a sanitary aerodrome, the commander: | |||||||||||||||

3.6 | Departures | ||||||||||||||
The Public Health Authority may, before departure of an aircraft, medically inspect the passengers and crew. They may prohibit the embarkation of any person(s) with symptoms of infectious diseases. | |||||||||||||||
