GEN 4.1   Aerodrome/Heliport charges

1.Landing of aircraft
 
For each landing the fee is assessed according to the maximum permissible weight of the aircraft as follows:

Helicopters attract a discount of 50% of the landing fees assessed in accordance with the above.
 
Visiting private aircrafts, not used for hire or reward which are cleared to do local flying and use the domestic airports/airstrips, shall pay the full landing fees at the PSWG International Airport for the first landing, and will be allowed to land at any government airstrip without paying landing fees for the first 30 days.
 
Exemptions:
  1. Military, State owned or Diplomatic aircraft on official business.
  2. Aircraft which depart from domestic airstrips and land at the international Airport only for exit or clearance.
  3. Aircraft on test flights, departing and landing at the international airport only, with prior permission.
  4. Mercy flights, Search and Rescue flights, Ambulance flights (not for hire or reward).
 
2.Parking of Aircraft
 
No fees shall be charged for the first 3 hours or for such time that is necessary for loading, offloading or refueling.

Exemptions:
  1. Military, state owned or Diplomatic Aircraft on official business.

3.Passenger Service
 
A Departure Fee of $71.00 BZ is required for each person departing on International flights. This fee includes: $30.00 BZ for Departure Tax, $36.00 BZ for Developmental Tax, $2.50 BZ for Security Fee and $2.50 BZ for Whole Bags Screening. These are subject to revisions.
 
4.Other
 
Hours of operations
 
The Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport’s normal hours of operation are from 6:00 a.m. local (1200 UTC) up to 6:00 p.m. local (2400 UTC). Operations outside of these hours are accepted with prior notification at least two hours prior to opening or cease of normal operations.
Charges by the following facilitation agencies outside normal operating hours for overtime payments are as follows: (Rates are in Belizean currency)
 
  1. Department of Civil Aviation - $250.00 BZ per hour. ATS will be available at least one hour prior to estimated time of arrival (ETA) and overtime charges will be payable to the Government of Belize in accordance with the Air Navigation Regulation, Statutory Instrument No 57 of 1982 Section D. The overtime per hour will be applicable when ATS is provided for the period of sixteen (16) minutes or more of the hour.
  2. The Belize Airport Concession Company Limited - $394.00 for the first hour or part thereof and $254.00 for any additional hour or part thereof.
  3. Customs Department - A minimum of $40.00 for operations within the first three hours.
  4. Immigration Department - $40.00 for arrival and $40.00 for departure, on weekends it’s the same as for late ops and $80.00 for arrival and $80.00 for departure on holidays.
  5. Agriculture/Quarantine – A minimum fee of $30.00 for inspection, $20.00 for disinsecting of aircraft when applicable, on weekends and holidays it’s the same, $50.00 total. As for late ops a minimum fee of $80.00 is charge.
 
Overtime charges
 
Overtime charges will be charged in the event of operations outside the normal working hours.
 
5. Exceptions and Reductions
 
Exceptions and reductions if any are detailed in each service provided.
 
6. Methods of payment
 
Landing, parking and overtime and other appropriate fees are payable at the time the aerodrome is used, or in the case of regular users on demand at the end of each calendar month in respect of charges accruing during the month.
 
Requests for payments in the latter part must be made to the appropriate authority.
